Polyester made of Ocean Waste
Sustainability and environmental protection are firmly anchored in our corporate values. In addition to supporting local afforestation projects, we have been successfully developing and processing yarns made of recycled post-consumer PET for a long time. Now we are once again sending out a strong signal for the environment and against marine litter.
SEAQUAL® and Georg + Otto Friedrich - Together for a Clean Ocean
Together with the SEAQUAL® Initiative, which is committed to cleaning the oceans of marine litter, we have developed another highly sustainable textile: DecoTex Blue. It consists of more than 60% SEAQUAL®polyester fibres, which are made from recycled marine plastic.
Do you know that approx. 12 million tonnes of waste is dumped into our oceans every year?
The SEAQUAL® Initiative aims to clean the Mediterranean Sea of plastic waste and recycle this plastic by upcycling into new, environmentally friendly polyester fibres. For more detailed information about the SEAQUAL® Initiative click here.
